I spoke with Darrin Brown from Greenhawk, an accounting firm with 22 employees. 

Darrin’s number one marketing tip is centred on giving. When he and his business partner started their accounting firm from scratch, they chose to engage in philanthropic activities. Darrin joined a local charity, giving his time and expertise in areas like bookkeeping and annual accounts preparation. He met like-minded individuals in the community who ultimately became clients.

He extends giving to freely offering advice and adding value in his business relationships. You might call it accounting Karma and it’s helped him build a successful firm with clients across New Zealand.
